Aug 09–5 Year Pictures

My favorite things Spencer has said:

date???  Going through the drive thru at the bank Spencer pipes up from the back of the car and says, “Chicken nuggets please!”

11.19.09  Spencer was being a stinker and Chris said, “I think I am going to sell you.”  He said, “You can’t sell me, I am too funny!”

11.1.09 Sitting in church a little boy gets up to bear his testimony, says one sentence and then amen.  When he was done Spencer said rather loudly, “That was short!” 

10.6.09 Playing with Kira and Olivia in the toy room.  Olivia wasn’t sharing a toy that Spencer wanted so he says to her, “Okay, if you don’t share then I am not going to marry you!”

5.21.09 On the airplane ride to Colorado, the flight attendant gave us drinks and a bag of peanuts.  After opening them up, Spencer handed me the bag of peanuts and said, “This isn’t what I ordered!”

5.10.09 Sittinng at dinner one night Spencer said, “I have some rules I need to tell you.”  He then proceeded to give us these rules: 1st-No getting by porcupines or fire. Porcupines will poke and fire will burn you and make you die.  2nd-Going to the beach is fun, but don’t get bitten by sharks because they have lots of teeth. 3rd-Never, never, ever eat bananas when they’re all brown because they are mushy.  4th-Never play alone because strangers are dangerous.  5th-Always play with Mom and Dad and do what they say.

3.6.09 After coming home from preschool and learning all about the letter Z, Spencer said, “I learned everything, I don’t need to go to preschool anymore.”  Upon further questioning, he said, “I’ve learned all the letters, I don’t need to go back.”

2.18.09  Spencer said “Hey, I know what this letter is. It’s a seven.”

2.16.09  I was wearing my glasses and Spencer said, “Mom you look weird!  Why are you wearing those?”

2.4.09  Spencer was getting out of the bathtub when Chris told him it was bedtime and that he couldn’t play the Wii Batman Lego game.  He started to cry, then he said, “ouch!”  Chris asked what the matter was and he said, “My feelings are hurt!”

11.9.08  Spencer came down this morning and said, “Mom I have to tell you something.”  He looked a little sad.  I said, “what is it?”  He said I have to tell you something in Spanish…holamanidedos.”  I asked what that meant.  “It means sorry Mom.”

11.2.08  Chris was getting Spencer ready for church with khaki pants and a red oxford shirt when Spencer asked, “Dad why am I wearing a work shirt to church?”  (Seeing as that is what Chris wears to work daily.)

8.23.08  Walking home from church Josey’s legs were soaking up the sun.  When we got home Spencer touched them and said, “Ouch, Baby will burn me!”

7.11.08  Driving on the way home from the grocery store the sun was a huge orange ball setting behind the mountain, it was breathtaking, and we pointed it out to Spencer.  He watched as it quickly dropped behind the mountain and then sweetly said, “Mom, thank you for that beautiful sunset!”

2.27.08  Seeing two LDS missionaries riding their bikes I pointed them out to Spencer and said, “Look Spencer there are two missionaries.”  He paused for a moment and asked, “Mom which one is Ammon?”

2.27.08  As we were watching a Backyardigans show about astronauts I said to Spencer, “Are you going to be an astronaut when you grow up?”  He said, “NO!”  I then asked what he was going to be and he said, “I am going to be a Dad!”
