Tonight was the first night that it really felt like Fall to me. I love FALL!! I love the crisp evenings and mornings. I love the change in the color of the leaves
. I love curling up with a blanket. I love getting my sweaters out. I love fires on evenings like this. My kids do too! They jumped on the trampoline and waited for the fire to be ready. Spencer is a
pyro just like his dad. I do not know of any little boys who don’t want to see what will burn in a fire! Josey just wants to sit and eat the marshmallows without even roasting them. Izzy just wants to eat them and enjoyed every sticky, gooey bite of her very own smore. Spencer just wanted to keep the fire going so he could roast some more mallows. I love these darling messy, sticky faces!
Fall is in the Air! Time for some SMORES!
Wild Animals…and I don’t just mean the ones at the ZOO!
On Labor Day we decided to adventure to the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City. It was the perfect day…overcast and just a slight breeze. The animals were all out and active and enjoying the many, many visitors that were there that day. Spencer wanted to make sure that we saw the alligators, Josey wanted only to ride the train, and Izzy pointed excitedly at all the animals. It was a delight watching them on the merry-go-round and the train, to see them excited about the baby elephant, the tigers, and the monkeys. Always an adventure with my 3 wild animals!
FINALLY…it is her First Day of Preschool!
Josey has wanted to start school since Spencer went to Kindergarten last year. The injustice of having to wait in her mind was SO unfair that I had to hear every day, “Mom, when do I get to go to school?” Finally on September 2nd it was her turn…She couln’t hardly stand it or herself! She picked out her outfit, was so excited to wear her new shoes and impatiently waited for the time to come.
As we were eating breakfast that morning, she says to her dad, “I am so excited to ride in your Jeep to school!” We both looked at each other and wondered how to let her know that Daddy had to take Spencer to school and then go give blood and go to work and wouldn’t be taking her. In her mind Dad was the one who took to school! Before I could say anything and let the disappointment set in, Daddy said he would come back and take her to ABC Preschool for her very first day. She was so excited!
Off she went, without one tear, to experience this thing called school. When I picked her up afterwards, she couldn’t stop talking about it! She loved every minute of it.
To celebrate her first day I told her she could choose where she wanted to go to lunch. She chose “Panda Bears” aka Panda Express so over orange chicken we talked all about her day! Her teacher Annette Carroll is AMAZING and I am so excited to see what she experiences this year!
Izzy’s Birthmom Visits
I am in awe of this amazing woman and am so blessed to have her in my life. Ieisha is out her in Utah, and we got to see her at Heart and Souls annual BBQ for adoptive families. There were bouncy slides and jump houses, good bbq food, face painting and great conversations! She had her two little girls with her, Tieisha and Dezire. They are adorable little girls and my kids loved playing with them. I was glad to have the moment to talk with Ieisha and interact with her girls. I adore you girl and am so grateful God brought you and little angel Isabelle
into our life. Love always
