Pretty!

Josey has learned the word “pretty.” I was getting dressed yesterday and walked in her room and she looked up at me and said in her 15 month old talk…”preeey” and then patted my shirt. Whenever I do her hair and put bows or flowers in it, she says “Preeey!” This picture of her turned out so cute. She is growing by leaps and bounds. I am a little sad that the baby phase went by way too fast and now we are into the toddler part full force!
All Beaded Up

So I ran into this beautiful black woman and her 18 month old little girl who had braids and beads and was SO adorable. She gave of her wisdom and showed me how to do it, so we made an attempt at beading Josey’s hair yesterday. Considering I have never done it before, I think it turned out pretty darn cute! It only took us 3 1/2 hours spread out over the course of the day. She would sit still long enough to do about 3 braids and then we had to take a break…the only thing is that it makes her look even older than she already looks!! She LOVES to shake her head back and forth because the beads click together. It makes her giggle and then she does it again. She is at such a fun age right now.
Josey’s 1st Steps…FINALLY!!
Okay, not that I really want her to be walking yet…I know what new challenges it brings…but she has been so close for so long that it is finally here. Most mornings Chris would ask her, “Is today the day? Let’s do some walkin!” Well Sunday night was the day. Chris was talking to Grandma Powell and she was asking if Josey was walking yet. She was sitting on the bottom stair and as if she heard Grandma’s question, she stood up and took 3 steps! We got her to take six steps total and had her walking back and forth between the two of us. She thinks she is “all that” when she takes steps and will clap her hands at the end and say, “YAAAAAA!”
All I want for Christmas is…
Santa came to our ward Christmas party this year. Spencer was all about standing in line to sit on his lap and let him know what he wanted for Christmas. He has always told us he wanted a “tippy scooter” (those Razor scooters), but when he sat on Santa’s lap he decided that he wanted Optimus Prime Transformer…much to our suprise. I guess we will see what Santa actually decides to bring him for Christmas!
As you can see from the picture, Josey wanted nothing to do with Santa! The second I put her on his lap she started screaming, and not just any scream, it was a wail!! He tried to give her a candy cane and she just kept handing it back to him. I guess she’s not quite ready for the big man yet!
Josephine is 1!!!
Saturday was Josey’s 1st Birthday. We had a Princess Party. She was so cute in her princess tutu and tiara! She didn’t know what to think of the presents and wasn’t sure if she wanted to dig in to her castle cake or not, but she did love all the kids and the attention she got.
