Happy Halloween!

Halloween was fun again this year! Josey was our inspiration for our costumes. I found hers first and then Spencer decided he wanted to be a spider. I was a bumblebee and Chris wounldn’t decide on a bug so I started naming bugs…cockroach (he wasn’t too keen on that one), grasshopper (he didn’t want to have a thorax), then I told him he should be a stink bug because he was being a stinker…we settled on a Bug Catcher! He was super cute!
Here are a bunch of activities that we did to count down to Halloween and then to celebrate it: we made spiders out of pipecleaners, made popcorn pumpkin balls, carved pumpkins, made roasted pumpkin seeds, decorated sugar cookies and went to HeeHaws Halloween afternoon. What a beautiful day Halloween turned out to be. Trick or Treating was a treat and Josey had it all figured out after the third house! Happy Halloween everyone!

1st Snow of the Year…in OCTOBER!!!
Okay so we got snow on October 27th, not just flurries, but snow that covered the grass and dropped the temps 20 degrees! Spencer went out to play in the backyard with Duke. He came in and told me he had made a snowman and that I just had to come and see it, so out I tromped and it was cute, then he came in a told me he had made his first snowman a little sister. He played outside for 2 hours and had so much fun. I am just not sure if I am quite ready for Winter.

Pumpkinland Field Trip
Spencer had a field trip to Pumpkinland at Vineyard Gardens in Orem. It rained all night last night and most of the morning…we were really worried they wouldn’t be able to go, but right before we left the sun came out and shined the whole time there and then started raining on the drive home afterwards, what a blessing! We had so much fun! We were with Hannah Carr, Kira & Olivia and Racquel. These 4 lOVE being together!!!! Here are some cute pictures from our adventure in the mud and the muck!

Spencer’s 3 Goals
Spencer informed me last week that there were three things he wanted to accomplish. First, to be able to snap his fingers. Second, to be able to whistle. And third, to blow a bubble with gum. He has been practicing these all week and two days later informed me that he could snap his fingers. Today he mastered whistling. As we were driving in the car he said, “I am a better whistler than you are Mom!” Then he informed me that all he needs to master now is blowing a bubble. Thank goodness for good old practice and determination! What an amazing kid!
