oh the weather outside is frightful!
It started to snow this morning about 9am and didn’t stop most of the day. We got 7 1/2 inches of snow…crazy! We drove in it down to Provo to spend the day with Grandma and Grandpa Teeter making our annual Christmas cookies from my grandmother’s recipes. We made Pepperkaukers, Skillet cookies (my favorite!), Snowballs, Bird’s Nests, Marshmallow Rolls, and Sugar Cookies. It is always fun baking with my dad. The kids played, Grandma worked on her projects and we just enjoyed spending the day together. I love Christmas for that very reason…family together making memories and continuing traditions!
All I want for Christmas is…
Santa came to our ward Christmas party this year. Spencer was all about standing in line to sit on his lap and let him know what he wanted for Christmas. He has always told us he wanted a “tippy scooter” (those Razor scooters), but when he sat on Santa’s lap he decided that he wanted Optimus Prime Transformer…much to our suprise. I guess we will see what Santa actually decides to bring him for Christmas!
As you can see from the picture, Josey wanted nothing to do with Santa! The second I put her on his lap she started screaming, and not just any scream, it was a wail!! He tried to give her a candy cane and she just kept handing it back to him. I guess she’s not quite ready for the big man yet!
Thankful….very Thankful!!
Thanksgiving always brings out the best in all of us…it kicks off a season of peace, joy, friendship, and love. I love Thanksgiving! I love the smell of the stuffing cooking. I love to watch my dad carve the beautiful turkey. I especially love sitting around the table with my family around me enjoying the bounteous food. My list of things I am thankful for is long…at the top is Chris (my love) and Spencer and Josey. Also are their birthmoms, Becky and Sondi. For them we will ever be thankful! They have given us our most treasured gifts! I am thankful for my life. I am blessed abudantly!
Spencer and Chris had a fun time raking leaves. Spencer and Josey especially loved playing in them. Spencer especially had a great time piling them on Josey’s head and throwing them up over the two of them. Crunching leaves are one of my favorite sounds of Fall.
