Saturday was Josey’s 1st Birthday.  We had a Princess Party.  She was so cute in her princess tutu and tiara!  She didn’t know what to think of the presents and wasn’t sure if she wanted to dig in to her castle cake or not, but she did love all the kids and the attention she got. 

I love Halloween!  It is the one time a year I actually get to use my sewing skills that I learned from my mother and in high school!  Spencer debated long and hard about what he wanted to be for Halloween.  I told him that once we bought a pattern that was the final decision!  First he told me he wanted to be “a plain black bat…not Batman…just a bat!”  Then he wanted to be a Jedi (which would have been fun to dress up as characters from Star Wars).  Then he wanted to be a red dragon (also easy to dress the rest of us up as King, Queen and Princess Josey).  But he came back to his original idea of a bat…so we were a coven of bats!

I finished his costume 2 weeks before Halloween and he wore it just about every day up until Halloween!  He flew down our stairs, he flew from the arm of the sofa to the bean bag chair, he flew off of just about anything a 4 year old boy can think of to climb!  It was fun and will definitely be well used over the next months!
