We went to Strawberry Reservoir on July 23 to go horseback riding. Martin Matthews (our next door neighbor and Bishop) promised to take me horseback riding and I promised to make him an apple pie. Definitely a fair trade!!! Spencer was a little scared of the horses at first, but he loved playing in the dirt and muck! It was a beautiful ride. Samantha and Jessica watched Spencer while we were gone, and Spencer even got in on the action at the end riding with Martin. We had a fun day! Check out the updated photos for July.

A day at the Hogle Zoo! We went to the zoo for Spencer’s 1st birthday. It was so much fun! Spencer loved ALL the animals and thought it was great! We went with Heather and her 5 kids. It was a really hot day, but thankgoodness there are a lot of trees there for shade. That made is bareable! Spencer especially loved the bird show they do there. He sat mesmerized for 30 minutes watching all the birds. He would point and do his “ooo…ooo” grunts. We had a great day!

Happy Birthday to Spencer! It was my first birthday–Mom and Dad pulled out all the stops. My birthday cake was in the shape of a number 1. Lots of my family and friends came to bring me fun presents and eat cake. That was my favorite part. Grandpa Teeter gave me this spoonful of chocolate ice cream which I quickly added to the mess of cake all over my face–BOY was it YUMMY!!!

We celebrated the 4th of July by going to Provo for the Freedom Festival Grand Parade. Kevin, Naudia, and her roommate Carolina came with us. It was very HOT, but so much fun! Spencer loved all the people and especially all the doggies that were there. After we walked down the the Arts Festival and ate lunch and walked through all the booths. We came home and all took a long nap, thank goodness for air conditioning! Then we had a barbeque with Michelle’s family. We lit off fireworks that evening and Chris tried to blow up our neighbors truck….
